Worship

Pastor John was on vacation this week, so our own Bethany Keck is leading worship today. The First Congregational Church of Kent is a Spirit-filled congregation of the United Church of Christ, and we welcome everyone who joins us, whatever your religious background--or even if you don't have much of a religious background at all! Thanks for joining us for worship today!

Things that are simple are not hard to understand. Things are easy are not hard to do. Some things are both simple and easy, and some things are neither simple nor easy, but most things are somewhere in between--things that may be simply, but are not easy. And today we talk about what might be the most "simple but not easy" things of all. The First Congregational Church of Kent is a Spirit-filled congregation of the United Church of Christ, and we welcome everyone who joins us, whatever your religious background--or even if you don't have much of a religious background at all! Thanks for joining us for worship today!

Well, who doesn't like a happy ending? I do. You do. We all do. And today that's just what we get--the happy ending to the long rivalry between Jacob and Esau. The First Congregational Church of Kent is a Spirit-filled congregation of the United Church of Christ, and we welcome everyone who joins us, whatever your religious background--or even if you don't have much of a religious background at all! Thanks for joining us for worship today!

Life is all about change. Usually it happens gradually, and sometimes you can see change coming from a mile away, but sometimes change happens suddenly, dramatically, and all at once--just like it happens to Jacob this morning. The First Congregational Church of Kent is a Spirit-filled congregation of the United Church of Christ, and we welcome everyone who joins us, whatever your religious background--or even if you don't have much of a religious background at all! Thanks for joining us for worship today!

Well, if you've been waiting for Jacob to finally meet someone who seems to be as crooked as he it, today's the day. Its just a shame it has to come at the expense of poor Leah. You'll see what I mean. The First Congregational Church of Kent is a Spirit-filled congregation of the United Church of Christ, and we welcome everyone who joins us, whatever your religious background--or even if you don't have much of a religious background at all! Thanks for joining us for worship today!

We would all like to think that there's some sort of ethical balance to the universe, wherein people who do good things have good things happen to them, and people who do bad things have bad things happen to them. And sometimes that happens, but sometimes it doesn't, and today we consider who we might understand all of those times when life just doesn't work the way we think it should. The First Congregational Church of Kent is a Spirit-filled congregation of the United Church of Christ, and we welcome everyone who joins us, whatever your religious background--or even if you don't have much of a religious background at all! Thanks for joining us for worship today!

Well, if you thought Jacob was kind of a stinker to his brother Esau last week, then you ain't seen nothing yet, because he's even to his brother (and to his father!) today!
